Position Title: Enterprise Content Management Architect
This position is responsible for assessing the client's needs, discovering the requirements, defining the scope, designing the solutions, & as necessary delivering a solution.
Essential Job Duties: (100%)
Provides the design for overall e-business workflow solution typically based on the IBM ECM
product portfolio. Refines the architecture, develops the models, designs the components &
creates testing and implementation plans. (20%)
Installs, configures, develops, and/or provides other hands-on skills and tasks as required to
implement the specific e-business workflow solution previously defined. (35%)
Engages in pre-sales activities to develop client briefings, project estimates and proposals
demonstrating the company's ability to meet the client's specific project needs. Delivers
presentations to support technical and sales requirements. Prepares statements of work in
preparation for transaction document. (20%)
Analyzes client business needs and recommends specific solution architectures, software, hardware, and/or middleware as necessary. Creates and reviews architectural project plans. Identifies and evaluates alternative solutions. ( 15%)
May perform other related duties as required and assigned. ( 10%)
Additional Tasks, as needed:
Provides hands-on training throughout engagements for customer team members.
Maintains proficiencies and certification in designated technologies.
Freedom to Act:
Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard architecture techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making acceptable adaptations and modifications.
Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position or equivalent education.
Assistance is provided on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application.
Individual’s time is billable to client and expected to attain 70% billable realization.
Estimates number of hours required to complete assigned work included in quote to client.
Positions Reporting to this Position:
Indirect: Engineers, Developers
Working Relationships & Contacts:
Works frequently with Project Manager to organize tasks and estimate delivery time, as well as
contractual and staffing requirements for future projects.
Works closely with sales reps to identify and qualify business opportunities.
Works with executive sponsors on multi-platform projects if applicable.
Works with developers, engineers and other architects to ensure consistency across other
application suites, overall technical accomplishment, collaborative project team efforts, and achievement of important project goals frequently.
Works occasionally with business partners who act as sub-contractors for MRC IT on projects.
Works with clients and customers to define and present MRC IT solution frequently.
Works with vendors and business partners who provide software products to MRC IT frequently.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or MIS and/or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3-5 yrs. of proven consulting experience including producing and conducting
Minimum of 5-7 years of engineering and development experience with 1-3 of the years
consisting of direct architecture experience.
Experience as a key player (Architect/Technical Lead/Project Lead/Sr. Designer) in designing and
developing solid functional & technical solutions.
Demonstrated skills in the IBM Filenet P8 family of products including:
Installation/upgrade, configuration and deployment of new FileNet P8 CE/AE/BPM and Image Management systems.
Troubleshoot complex FileNet P8 issues and find resolutions quickly.
Systems implementation specialist for various FileNet EDM solutions on supported platforms
Excellent understanding with IBM FileNet P8 Platform Architecture.
Knowledge of BPF and/or IBM Case Manager will be plus.
Knowledge of CMOD and/or IBM CM8 will be plus.
Familiarity with IBM FileNet BPM Administration.
Day to day experience of FileNet P8 administration.
Familiarity with WebSphere Application Server (WAS), DB2, Tivoli Directory Services (TDS).
Proficient in Java and J2EE programming.
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage large scale project plans, meet hard timelines,
communicate effectively with an international project team, develop policy and procedures,
develop solutions to complex business and technical challenges.
Ability to interact with internal and external clients at all levels from Junior Developer to Senior Management.
Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, oral and written
The ability to work under minimal supervision, independently and/or as a member of a project
Experienced in formal project management methodologies.
The ability to meet with clients and based on current or projected business requirements design a technical solution meeting those requirements.
Extensive knowledge of relevant technologies and experience architecting solutions utilizing
Current certification(s) of applicable technologies.
Ability to multitask and to prioritize workload under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Must escalate appropriate issues to management in a timely fashion.
Must be detailed oriented – with strong attention to accuracy and problem solving. “Follow-up
until resolved” skills are a must.
Ability to work well as a team member.
Skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, etc.).
Knowledge of Cloud technologies such as Amazon cloud, IBM Softlayer, Platform as a Service,
Software as a Service (SaaS), and IBM SaaS/Cloud offerings would be a plus.
Ability to travel 50-100% of time.
