The Regional Sales Manager position will be based out of our Fresno, CA, or possibly our Chicago, IL office. This exciting opportunity with Olam SVI will call on major food companies and have assigned territory and key account responsibility for one of the world’s leading tomato processing companies.
The Regional Sales Manager will support the sales team in the following areas:
• Maintain current business & build new business within the assigned territory and customer categories
• Lead customer development and contract negotiations as needed
• Grow business by creating new opportunities and defending against competitive threats
• Work with internal resources to further develop relationships with Regional Accounts,
• Build competitive advantage with our customers through strategic use of new product development and innovation

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create, develop and execute account strategies, budgets, and forecasts for the territory. Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new accounts
• Develop long-term partnerships within the region that results in increased sales and margins growth
• Establish working relationship with account’s Purchasing and R&D departments to improve long term business development
• Work with technical, operations and product development personnel to assure alignment of sales strategy and product offerings with technical and operational capabilities
• Development and execution of customer business plans on an annual/quarterly/monthly basis
• Customer contract negotiation and management
• Customer project management
• Collaborative engagement with all Olam SVI matrix functions (Operations, QA/R&D, Supply Planning, Customer Operations, Logistics, etc.) to execute business plans, resolve issues, and deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer needs and drive profitable growth
• Market Intelligence Management: Monitor market conditions, product innovations, competitive products, competitive prices, competitive capabilities, competitive origins and sales
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
• BS/BA in food science, business or related field from an accredited college or university
• 4+ years successful experience in day-to-day management of medium to large, food processing, manufacturing account sales. Demonstrated experience in the industrial food ingredients market and/or retail/foodservice co-manufacturing is a plus
• Strong general business capabilities, and analytical/technical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must demonstrate sales planning, forecasting and sales execution experience
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional groups
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, customers and associated internal/external demands
• Must have strong negotiation skills
• Solution oriented, with mindset of continuous improvement
• Well-developed time management skills
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: PowerPoint, Excel, Word
• Experience with SAP beneficial but not required
• Strong self-initiative; ability to operate at a high level with minimum supervision

• Desire to continually learn and co-develop new processes and products
• Must be able to travel up to 40-50 % of time; position may require some international travel
• Ideal candidate would bi-lingual in Spanish
